Wow so much has changed on xanga.  i don't think i like the requirement of having a theme. but oh well. here's a little blog about one of the best nights ever!

My first Matthew Good concert!! (finally!)  Friday, March 7th at Tractor Tavern.  With opener Courtney Jones.  But here's an excerpt from his blog:

Last night was fun though, despite my whining above. For those interested in the set list, it was as follows:

I Am Not Safer Than A Bank
    Champions Of Nothing
    Avalanche
    Born Losers
A Silent Army In The Trees
    Black Helicopter
She’s In It For The Money
    Load Me Up
    Strange Days
    Metal Airplanes
    I’m A Window
    99% Of Us Is Failure
    Tripoli
    Apparitions

    Encore
    Suburbia
    Pledge Of Allegiance
True Love Will Find You In The End

Somewhere in there was also an impromptu version of The Future Is X-Rated, the chorus of which the crowd gladly sung for me.

To be honest, given the type of venue, the show was a little long. It’s a lot different than playing theatres so I’ll probably cut it back a bit.

the weather has been so nice lately. well, more like randomly and for a couple days in between the clouds, cold, and rain. it was nice rain too! i wanted to go run around in it, but i got sick this week and it just wasn't a good idea. yeah, so i randomly got sick. like a really sore throat that made it hard to swallow. oddly enough, it was only on my left side, so when i say "ah," you can see that my tongue is slanted in the back cuz only my left lymph node is swollen. it's really bizarre! and my throat started hurting and got really bad on saturday night at work. i had to call in sick for sunday because i was dizzy too. i spent that day zoning in and out while i had to write my *last* undergrad paper :) but yes, then the next day i felt way better. no dizziness and my throat was way better. and i got even better on tuesday! just in time for my concert (which was wonderful and amazing). today though, the right side of my throat started hurting when i swallow. hopefully i don't get the same illness but on the other side while my left side is still recovering. that would be weird.

anyway, i'm looking forward to the long weekend. i am so behind on readings again, i really should get cracking, but we'll see what happens. hope you're all having a super day!

college is almost over. it's a very scary fact that i haven't quite realized yet. but i still have one more paper and a few more tests before it's done with. undergrad at least... but i'm excited and scared. i'll just wait and see what happens.

nothing really exciting to report. lots of new music news that's super exciting in terms of new cds coming out this summer and new songs streaming and stuff. haha. yup. i'm going to a concert next week if anyone has heard of the audition, my american heart, new atlantic, 1997 or bobby darling. just let me know.

oh, i remember. my computer died. my laptop. it has issues where it'll start up and then it'll load and such but then the windows bar on the bottom freezes up a little while after. so i switched computer use. but actually it's doing better. i'm scared to make it do too much at a time, but i've been burning off songs and files. but now one big file is stuck on the "to burn" list when i have cds as a folder and i'm not sure what to do now. it won't delete off the "to burn" cue (queue??). anyway, that's been a bummer, but oh well.

the weather has been so nice. i want to go to the beach sometime. maybe after finals. anyone up for it? :D

good thing this came out on thursday. so i just heard back from TFA and no, they don't want me. kinda sad, but i'm really ok with it. there are a lot of things that make it a shady organization, although i admit it would have been an amazing opportunity for me. but i honestly don't think i would have liked most of the people there or the ramblings they shove down their recruits' throats. ok, so maybe that's harsh and i probably don't have much info on them, but there's just something off about the whole program. i promise i'm not negating the org because they rejected me. i voiced these concerns to some people before i heard back. i didn't even want to apply/consider them when i first heard of them freshman year...

anyway, just wanted to let everyone know because i sure don't want to call all of you up just to say i didn't make it. now that i'm doing that, i'm probably going to be leaving the country to teach english. while applying to grad schools.

    have a great day :)

i'm sick :( just a cough that's gotten worse. i am now coughing like every 2 minutes or so, but it gets this frequent more towards the end of the day. yeah. not so fun. but it's like a dry cough so not too bad. hopefully it passes soon. today was much better than yesterday though! i haven't been really sick for quite some time, so i'm ok with it. hehe.

my TFA interview went ok last week. not as great as i would have hoped, but i'm really ok with whatever the decision is going to be. life will go on. it's scary though, that i could potentially be packing up and moving in less than 2 months...

i went to a couple concerts since i wrote last. anberlin and mew. both times, someone backed out and i had an extra ticket. kinda frustrating, but i've decided to never buy a ticket for someone else ever again. ever. sorry, but as much as i love supporting the bands, i don't have that kind of money. i just bought used copies of most of the collection of one of my favorite singers. he streamed a new song online and i seriously sat there and put it on replay for the whole night. then the next day it was taken off. it was up for less than 24 hours, and it is still stuck in my head! sooo good. i'm going to go see one of his shows even if i have to fly/drive to canada to do so...!

ok, well this quarter is going all right. nothing too exciting. it'll be pretty fun on the whole i think, though. it's interesting in a very different way than my past classes have been.

that's all for now. i need to get some sleep and try to fight this cough.
